A family relocation to Switzerland at the end of 2019 and the impact of the pandemic forced me to re-evaluate my life and lifestyle, igniting a deeper interest in wellness and mental wellbeing.

In 2022, struggling with anxiety and burnout I found myself at a crossroads questioning the direction I was headed and where I could provide the most value. With a renewed focus on balance and a value driven purpose I explored ways to live in a more meaningful way, combining my interest in wellness with my creative drive, entrepreneurial spirit, a desire to connect with others and my lifelong passion for style and beauty.

My personal experience of coaching deepened my belief that a strong mind / body ( inner / outer ) connection was essential for optimal wellness and longevity. This led me to train as a coach with the highly regarded coaching authority Co-active Training Institute in 2023/24.

Following stints living and working in London, Hong Kong and Lyon, I returned to my native Scotland to raise my family. After our time in Switzerland we returned to Scotland where I now split my time between there and Berlin whilst travelling as often as possible. These experiences mean I can fully relate to the challenges and impact that change, reinvention, restructuring and integration - be it new place, new company, new career, new position, new lifestyle - can bring and support reframing them to allow for progress and success.

My experiences and burnout mean I have an innate appreciation of the effects overwhelm, dissatisfaction, low sense of fulfilment, low self esteem and underlying fear can have on how we live and how we reach our potential. As a result I coach clients with a deep level of empathy and positivity to help them rediscover their unique strengths and potential, unlocking the way for them to thrive.

ELAINE MACKENZIE

ABOUT

Graduating with an honours degree in Fashion Design I spent my early career working as a designer and stylist across Asia, USA, UK and Europe.

I took time off to raise my family whilst pursing entrepreneurial ventures in the fashion / lifestyle and travel sectors, garnering features in Vogue, Harpers Baazar, Elle, Elle Decoration, Living ETC, Monocle Radio and stocked in high end retailers including Harrods, Liberty, The Conran Shop, Merci Paris and Daunt Books. During this time I also worked as a stylist on projects with the BBC and my travel writing was featured in The Guardian newspaper. In tandem I volunteered at The Princes Trust mentoring and supporting young entrepreneurs with creative strategy, idea generation, branding and PR.

The B / W Journal

I created The B /W Journal in recognition of a changing approach towards wedding style. Drawn by my instinct, commitment to my passion for fashion, style and beauty and external industry shifts to a more flexible and personal bridal outlook I designed a digital platform to offer a creative, flexible and more sustainable approach to bridal.

Aimed at modern brides who follow a fashion driven, editorial take on bridal, the site is an inspirational look book of concepts, edits, styling and shoppable style for brides-to-be to explore beyond the traditional wedding narrative. The content covers wedding, trousseau and honeymoon.

A recent addition is The Marriage Mindset - a coaching service for couples pre-wedding to support aligned values, shared goals for married life and authentic connection for longterm happiness, respect and love.
